Indie hip hop duo The NewDay have a track record of remaking hits from the Yeah, Yeah, Yeahs, Mike Posner and now Kanye West.
About the Artists
The NewDay’s first album, The Distortion Project, hit the Internet by storm. Powered by a familiar 80’s sound, mixed with commercial melodies, and the talents of a D.E. & TONE backed by live instrumentation — their single “She’s Hollywood” found a home on NYC’s Power 105.1 and received heavy circulation on the blogsites. The band’s follow-up ‘Industry Rejects’ — a digital mixtape — allowed the dynamic duo to recreate the game’s most popular songs while showcasing their own concepts.
Destined to become trailblazers and trendsetters in their own right, Devon “D.E.” Johnson and Antonio “TONE” Husband and The NewDay aren’t afraid to take a chance on the wild side. Currently in the studio now working on two new projects due in 2011 aptly titled, ‘Revenge of the Rejects’ and ‘2-Morrow,’ the Brooklynites are the industry’s only hope at presenting an alternative way of thinking for those who have been force fed music that they could care less about.
