A handful of designers sat in a room hours before Facebook’s F8 Developer Conference and created an application to have your data transition into a blog-type profile currently called Facebook.me. The application is based on Facebook’s new Open Graph API.

How do I connect to Facebook.me?

You can connect your profile to the application with your permission. Information such as status updates, photos and more from your profile are updated to Facebook.me through the app.

Currently, you have the ability to select through three themes (Rush, Photostream and Glide). Each theme is based off the names and feature either you status updates, photos or both.

How can my band use it?

Your band is able to showcase their promotional photos, live concert pictures and news (status updates) and apply the link to the themed profile to your website.

Will your band use Facebook.me if it becomes a key feature that Facebook utilizes?

ReverbNation has created an application to showcase your music on Facebook to your fans. It is an easy app to download and utilize. The application can be applied to your personal and music pages. Obviously, you need to have a Facebook profile, and having a ReverbNation profile also helps to download the app faster.

The app displays like a profile that shows your music, fans and tour dates to name a few features.

This app really enhances the artist’s experience who want to add Facebook as a legit marketing resource to their band’s portfolio.

EmbedVid.com has generated an application for Twitter, which allows independent bands to spread their videos in real-time.

The application gives bands the option to distribute to their fans  a new music video that has been completed, or a video that was taken on the road.

For example, a band can capture video of a song, which they have performed live  that night and embed the video, and send it out to their fans right away using the app.

The easy-to-use site has only a few to utilize the application:

1. Type in Twitter Username

2. Type in Video Label

3. Type in Video Embed Code

Indie bands also have the option to utilize ”Video Grouping Tag” and have the option to “Rate” the video.

A great feature about the application is that it functions with all video networks such as Hulu.com and Youtube.com.
