Indie Band Fo/mo/deep Wants to Expand Your Mind with Eclecticism

Best known for their sizzling live performances, the fo/mo/deep groove is rooted in the experimental school of the 70s a time when jazz, soul and funk were one and the same.  Seeking to defy the ordinary, this diverse collective of seasoned pros keeps things stirred up with unpredictable energy that moves.

With lyrics like “expand your mind and your heart will follow”, the music of Eclecticism harkens back to the days when super groups hypnotized the world with bass driven ensembles and a full-bodied sound that reigned supreme. Indie Band Airborne Tour in Support of New Horizons

new horizons smallAirborne is currently on tour through July in support of their latest release, New Horizons.

Airborne the “Musical Peacemakers” of contemporary jazz are rising higher and soaring on New Horizons with their new and 7th CD to date.

The CD also expands the artistic world fusion motif of their 2007 release of Turbulence and regenerates the soulful energy of their 2004 release of Heavy Vibes with its Latin grooves and R&B vocal arrangements.

Jeff Kashiwa Produces CD for Debut Indie Artist Hulon

hulonA new saxophonist is on the rise in contemporary jazz. Hulon, who brings a fresh perspective on jazz with old-school style, will be releasing his debut CD, First Impressions.

Produced by Jeff Kashiwa, this CD promises to be a delightful experience with hot grooves and romantic charm.

First Impressions, is scheduled for release in early 2010.

When asked about this new CD and artist, Jeff Kashiwa said, “It’s every producer’s dream to come across an artist who has three qualities: drive to develop their unique voice, enthusiasm for creating music and passion to perform. Hulon posses all of these qualities.

DeNate: Reminisce

reminisceEmbracing each other’s musical backgrounds, Deborah Connors and Nate Harasim have formed an intricate sound generating De’Nate’s album Reminisce. The musicians have collaborated their efforts to form a unique sound to the contemporary jazz format.  

The duo introduce their sound with an ambient sound with the title track; applying Gordon James’ jazz-type fills and Connors’ elegant vocals, “Reminisce” allows listeners to prepare for an eccentic smooth vibe.

The next track that captures the ear is The Eurythmics, “Sweet Dreams”, cover where Connors utilizes her vocal range with the back drop of an ambient arrangement provided by Harasim.

“Let Your Body Move” makes you want to literally do that with its pop club dance vibrance and the guitar solo of Frank Selman. Selman and Darren Rahn play off one another at the tail-end, which makes a listener want to keep their bodies moving.
