My Summer Announce Select Tour Dates, Watch Live Performance Video

Long Island indie band, My Summer, have announced select summer tour dates in support of their forthcoming record to be released Summer 2011.

Formed in 2005 by Mike Longo (guitar, vocals) and Joe Lambiaso (drums), My Summer quickly established themselves as a staple of New York’s indie rock scene, picking up band members Dave Ferrara (guitar) and Joe Gruber (bass) along the way. Before year’s end, they released their first EP.

The Sliders’ New Album “City by the Sound” Out Now

The Long Island piano-rock foursome known as The Sliders have released their first full-length album, City By The Sound, produced by Jim Wirt (Incubus, Hoobastank, Jack’s Mannequin).

The independent band’s first full-length album, City By The Sound, is a record comprised of 11 coming-of-age tracks reminiscent of bands like The Script, Parachute, OAR, and Maroon 5.  Their music combines the best of pop-rock with a musical sensibility.  Eric, the group’s vocalist and primary songwriter, cites artists like Stevie Wonder and Sara Barielles as his key influences for writing catchy pop songs with intricate melodic foundations.

Sainthood Reps Sign with Tooth & Nail Records, Performing at SXSW

The Long Island rock band Sainthood Reps have recently signed to Tooth & Nail Records. The band will also be performing at this year’s SXSW Festival in Austin, Texas at the Tooth & Nail Showcase on March 19 at Bat Bar.

As 2010 drew to a close, the band partnered with Tooth & Nail Records to begin working on their debut full-length, produced by Long Islander Mike Sapone (Brand New, Crime in Stereo, The Xcerts) and slated for release in 2011.

Sainthood Reps began when Francesco Montesanto created and recorded four-demos and played them for his longtime musical companion, guitarist Derrick Sherman.  Knowing that he was unrefined, Montesanto hoped to entice Sherman into joining his musical endeavor because of his experience and similar musical interests, and thought he could turn his project into something worth pursuing more seriously.

Formed in the summer of 2009, NGHBRS (pronounced Neighbors), made it their mission to create the most unique musical project they possibly could. After months of writing and collaborating, Ian Kenny (vocals/keys), Jordan Schneider (drums), Tommy Fleischmann (guitar), and Eric Vivelo (bass), were confident in their newfound sound.

Indie Band NGHBRS Scheduled to Play Long Island Holiday Festival

Long Island, New York based 4-piece rock band known as NGHBRS will be playing the Long Island Holiday Festival on December 19 with Good Old War, The Republic of Wolves, Koji, and more.

The 2-day nonprofit event will give back to the community that has given so much already. The Holiday Festival will be giving all proceeds toAngel Tree; an organization devoted to children whom are not fortunate enough to celebrate this coming holiday season with a parent or parents due to imprisonment. Indie Band The Republic of Wolves Announce Presale for New Album

The alternative rock 5-piece known as The Republic of Wolves will release their highly anticipated album Varuna on November 30.

The presale options include the physical CD, the vinyl which includes two bonus tracks, or a package deal which includes a download card with an extra b-side. In addition to those, the first 200 preorders will receive a signed poster. Anyone who preorders the album will also get an exclusive download to “Woolen Blankets,” a new song off Varuna.

The Republic of Wolves Set to Release New Album in late November

“We all worked very hard on making this album exactly what we wanted it to be, and we’re proud of the result,” said Mason Maggio, vocalist and guitarist. “We wanted to make sure we created something that would be consistent but not boring, and we feel that we succeeded in that.”
