The Orange County singer/songwriter’s embarked on her first sizable headlining tour and she’s navigating her way towards Nashville. Her show in Georgia had sold out the night before. Yet it was bittersweet, as her car was later broken into, losing a GPS unit, some merchandise and her grandfather’s ukulele.

Despite such setbacks, Grannis sounds composed. And it’s not surprising that she’s handling the maps, noting highway numbers and directions. That’s because the 24-year-old has handled many career directions — which included leaving a major label and self-releasing a charting album — since opting to post her first song on YouTube.
