Independent Artist Matthew Pop Releases Fourth Solo Album

MatthewPopRiding a wave of emotions and angst following yet another successful and hard fought cross-country summer tour, indie artist and self-made rock star Matthew Pop has bottled up his most aggressive collection of songs yet – on his fourth album entitled, Reinventing The Cosmos; set to drop March 2nd.

“This album gets right to the point” said Pop.

In many ways a commentary on the ups and downs that plague anyone following a dream.

“This album is a touch darker,” Pop commented. “I honestly don’t know how I have been getting up every time I’ve been knocked down over the past 12 years.”

In the Indie Music World Luck Doesn’t Happen, It’s Made

spotlightNever believe in overnight successes. They’re like the tooth fairy. They’re make-believe. How many times have you heard about the struggling actress who moves to Hollywood and bumps into the guy at the coffee shop who happens to know a producer at Miramax? Then bam! The next week, she’s on the set of the next Quentin Tarantino flick.

Or how about the starry-eyed rapper who’s desperate to be the next MTV sensation? So he starts free-styling on the street one day at just the moment that the head A&R rep at Jive happens to be walking by. Next thing, he’s working on his own major label album.

You’ve probably noticed already that in the real world, things don’t usually happen that way. The overnight success is and always will be a myth. The big reason is that there’s too many layers of complexity between an idea and a real world end result.

Indie Artist Sarah Haze Releases “My Own Personal Sky”

cover options“You have the option to look at your life and see the good,” says Sara Haze, explaining the title to her new album My Personal Sky. The line comes from her song “Beautiful Day” in which she states she’s “already been through the rain” and now there’s “not a cloud” in her “personal sky.” While that’s where she may have ended up, this sun-bleached blonde Southern California girl explores the whole journey through her music.

Releasing her first major album at the age of 19 has been a long time coming for this songstress; writing fan favorites like “Lovely” and “My Own Hands To Hold” years earlier. Wise beyond her age, Haze writes about growing up in the modern teenage world in a way that connects.

“When one of my songs touches someone it means the world to me,” exclaimed Haze who’s had over 30 songs placed in films and television shows.

Sweden’s Marching Band Announce the May 2010 Release of Album

MarchingBandSweden’s Baroque indie-pop masters – Marching Band – is thrilled to announce the upcoming release of their new album, Pop Cycle, in May 2010 on U & L Records. Pop Cycle is the follow up to the band’s debut album Spark Large, also released on U & L Records.

Working in Stockholm with the legendary Swedish producer, Jari Haapalainen (Ed Harcourt, Camera Obscura, The Concretes), they emerged after recording for an intense six months (including the two most miserable winter months) with a new album that is a bit darker than their debut while still possessing the band’s trademark billowy sound.

Marching Band is a duo consisting of Jacob Lind and Erik Sunbring from Linköping, Sweden who have a knack for crafting beautiful pop songs with intricate melodies and complex arrangements.
