Indie Band Gold Motel Releases a Trifecta of Music for Fans

Gold Motel has released their debut album Summer House physically on Good As Gold Records. The indie band is also releasing a special digital edition of their debut album which includes 4 bonus tracks and released their debut 7″ Talking Fiction, which includes two brand new tracks – “Cold Shoulders” and “Slow Emergency.”

In addition to releasing a collection of new music, Gold Motel is launching a Talking Fiction remix contest on December 6 as a unique treat for fans with Indaba Music. The finalists will be voted on by the public, with the final winner being chosen by the band. The winner will receive gear from Vox, a Talking Fiction prize pack from the band and additional prizes to be announced!  More details on the remix contest to come.

Indie Rap Artist Yogy Releases New Mixtape

The indie artist Yogy has recently released his latest mixtape called Love and Guns.

At the young age of 22, Yogy started his career writing, recording, executive producing and engineering his own music for the past 2 years. The artist can be categorized with the rap or hip hip labels, but he life experiences sets the tone for his music.

Yogy has his own publishing under ASCAP, has a solid demo, performance resume and a top 40 sounding single. The hip hop artist has opened for well-known artists such as Murs, Obi Trice, Too Short and DJ Quick.

Hailing out of Oakland, California, Yogy is from where musicians are known for their formally known “Hyphy Movement” bringing a different look to the bay’s market. Growing up in tough streets between Oakland and San Francisco, from being homeless, to witnessing friend’s murders, the artist has really devoted time to making good music and perfecting his craft to make it out of the common hood struggles of urban communities.

Chris Young The Rapper Set to Release Single

1991_v5Lyrical dynamo Chris Young the Rapper releases his first single, “Stoned” via the World Wide Web. This comes 10 days before the release of his highly anticipated mixtape, The 1991 EP.

“The record is a ode to the golden era of hip hop. When beats had soul and the rhymes meant something,” said Cisco Adler, who produced the set of songs and heads up Young’s label Bananabeat Records.

“Stoned,” returns the listener to the glory days of hip-hop. Del The Funky Homosapien, innovator and legend, is featured on the track in classic form. Del, who most recently worked with the likes of powerhouse producer Dan “The Automator” Nakamura and the alternative hip-hop group, Gorillaz, served as a huge inspiration to Young for 1991.

Brooklyn’s The Waylons Release New Studio Recordings

waylons1The song-driven four-piece fresh from the studio, The Waylons, try out their new songs for the masses with a show at Union Pool on Monday, September 30th at 9:30 p.m. ($5 admission). The indie band recently released their latest EP, Out of Love, as well as two country songs on Tweet for Track.  They had so much success with this that they decided to release three more studio tracks as a limited CD at their next show.

The Waylons are a NYC rock band, writing and performing music steeped in the traditions of Americana, Britpop, punkrock and folk. There are three guys and a girl drummer, three members are songwriters, and all four band members sing.  While guitars, bass, and drums lay the foundation to the music, pianos, organ, clarinet, accordian, cello, and tambourines contribute to the group’s lush sounds. The Waylons’ music is praised for the level of craft in the songwriting as well as the arrangement of the music – both live and in recordings. The Waylons make music you will like in five minutes and love in five years.

Indie Band Sky Parade Soars Up the KEXP Charts
