Atlantic/Pacific Release Debut Album on No Sleep Records

Atlantic/Pacific have released their debut album, Meet Your New Love. The band will hit the road this November in support of their album on No Sleep Records.

Featuring Garrett Klahn (Texas is the Reason) and John Herguth (House & Parish, The Love Scene) and a rotating cast of members – Atlantic/Pacific will kick off the dates with a record release performance in their home city of Brooklyn, NY at the Bell House on October 28th.

Formed in the summer of 2008, Atlantic/Pacific have been honing their sound ever since with performances in NY and Europe, sharing the stage with Mercury Rev, Neil Halstead, Chamberlain, and Walter Schreifels, including performances at the UK’s TRUCK Festival two years in a row.

Indie Band The Republic of Wolves Announce Presale for New Album

The alternative rock 5-piece known as The Republic of Wolves will release their highly anticipated album Varuna on November 30.

The presale options include the physical CD, the vinyl which includes two bonus tracks, or a package deal which includes a download card with an extra b-side. In addition to those, the first 200 preorders will receive a signed poster. Anyone who preorders the album will also get an exclusive download to “Woolen Blankets,” a new song off Varuna.

Varuna is a musical masterpiece – instrumentally, rhythmically and lyrically. Fans of His Old Branches will embrace this album for its beautiful melodies and cohesive arrangements.

The Republic of Wolves Set to Release New Album in late November

The alternative rock 5-piece known as The Republic of Wolves will release their highly anticipated album Varuna on November 30.

Varuna is a musical masterpiece – instrumentally, rhythmically and lyrically. Fans of His Old Branches will embrace this album for its beautiful melodies and cohesive arrangements. Varuna does stem away from their last EP, with more experimentation musically including interesting new sounds and effects. With its musical variety and impeccable production, Varuna is a contender as one of the best albums of 2010.

“We all worked very hard on making this album exactly what we wanted it to be, and we’re proud of the result,” said Mason Maggio, vocalist and guitarist. “We wanted to make sure we created something that would be consistent but not boring, and we feel that we succeeded in that.”

Indie Duo Voltaire Twins Make U.S. Debut at CMJ

Voltaire Twins will be playing the CMJ Showcase 2010 in New York during their first visit to the states.

This year is shaping up to be a colorful year for Australian synth-pop duo Voltaire Twins. The brother-sister combo recently caught the eye of French tastemaker label Kitsuné, who released their single “D.I.L. (JBAG remix)” worldwide on the Kitsuné x Ponystep worldwide release.

With iTunes adding the duo to their Hotly Tipped For 2010 compilation, the pair, who are already regular features in the blogosphere, have exploded in a swarm of internet hype.

CMJ 2010 Showcase Features a Variety of Indie Music

CMJBig Picture Media will be hosting their 2nd Official CMJ Showcase on October 19 at The Bowery Poetry Club in New York  featuring To Write Love On Her Arms.

The showcase will also feature special performances by Cute Is What We Aim ForThe Bigger LightsThe NarrativeLoomis and The LustJackson Wetherbee Band and Cyndi Harvell.

Come out for one of the best line-ups during CMJ this year! Badge entry is free and $10 for non-badge holders. The show is all-ages and starts at 10pm!

To Write Love On Her Arms Supports AFSP Out of Darkness Community Walk

AFSPOn Sunday, October 24thTo Write Love on Her Arms will be supporting the AFSP (American Foundation for Suicide Prevention)’s Out of the Darkness Community Walk in New York. The event will start at City Hall Park, located in downtown Manhattan.

TWLOHA will have a team of people walking, as well as an information tent set up to talk to the TWLOHA team members. The TWLOHA team will also be recruiting volunteers for the launch of IMAlive, a live online crisis network.

Indie Band Abel Signs with Come&Live!

abel_press_03Former Facedown Records / Dreamt Music artist Abel have signed with Come&Live! to release their upcoming full-length record entitled Lesser Men on October 19.

“Music is about people, and we believe that Come&Live! really understands that,” Abel vocalist Kevin Kneifel explained.  “I think the organization’s non-profit ‘anti-label’ model can be a strange thing to anyone looking in, but we feel that C&L! is the right place for Abel to be–we want to make our music and message available to as many people as we can.”

The Poughkeepsie, NY natives have spent the last year touring in support of their Facedown debut, The Honest Love, which garnered excellent reviews from the likes of Outburn, HM Magazine, and Indievisionmusic.com–making their upcoming release a highly anticipated sophomore effort.
