ulFrom backstage drugs to onstage fights, Southern California pop punk outfit Unwritten Law has had its share of drama since forming in the early ‘90s outside of San Diego. That drama has translated into different lineups throughout the band’s nearly 20-year run, but two core members have remained constant – vocalist Scott Russo and guitarist Steve Morris.

musicgearWhile browsing around social networks, I have noticed an increase in status posts on Facebook and bulletins on Myspace about independent musicians selling their used gear. The situations I have seen have bands getting rid of too much clutter in the studio, or they need to upgrade their equipment.

Members of indie bands The Action Design, Unwritten Law and Fit For A King are recent sellers of their used equipment.

So why not buy a used guitar, or amp from a band you love to listen to?

Music fans who are amateur musicians should certainly take advantage of this situation. You get a decent piece of equipment and it has a great story behind it. You can actually say that your favorite bassist played the bass guitar that you are using to learn their songs.

“Sinner,” featuring Scott Russo of Unwritten Law, is off of Big B’s recent release American Underdog under the indie label Suburban Noize Records. The indie performer is currently on the Jagermeister Music Tour with Pennywise and Pepper. Check out www.feedbigb.com for more information.

America’s most notorious white trash renegade returns with his fourth studio full length “American Underdog”, this time Big B ventures out on a musical expedition into new frontiers. Raw and honest like always, Big B’s brand of outlaw hip-hop has returned with a few new tricks this time around in what will go down as one of the Sub Noize heavyweight’s best albums.
